Harrogate Town star shortlisted for duo of awards

Harrogate Town's Luke Armstrong has been shortlisted for the PFA Vertu Motors Fans Player of the Month and League Two Player of the Month.

Harrogate Town striker Luke Armstrong has been shortlisted for both the PFA Vertu Motors Fans Player of the Month and SkyBet League Two Player of the Month for September. Armstrong currently tops the division's scoring charts with seven goals, three of those coming in the month of September, as well as two assists. Harrogate’s number 29 ended the month with another headed effort away at Crawley and has already added to his tally in October with a strike in last weekend's victory at Oldham. Armstrong joins Jamile Matt (Forest Green Rovers), Luke McGee (Forest Green Rovers), Jake Beesley (Rochdale), Harry Smith (Leyton Orient) and Joe Kizzi (Sutton United) as one of six players deemed worthy of nomination by the PFA panel of former players. For the SkyBet League Two award, Armstrong is up against Nicky Cadden (Forest Green Rovers), Ben Garrity (Port Vale) and Harry Smith (Leyton Orient), with the winner to be announced at 6am on Friday 8 October. Voting will close on Sunday 10 October.
