Boroughbridge hotelier praises 'phenomenal experience' after TV debut on Channel 4's 'Four in a Bed'

The Grantham Arms in Boroughbridge owner Simon Wade has praised his appearance on Channel 4's 'Four in a Bed' as a 'phenomenal experience.'

A Boroughbridge hotelier has praised his appearance on Channel 4's 'Four in a Bed' as a 'phenomenal experience.' The Grantham Arms in Boroughbridge made its long-awaited appearance on the popular show last night (Monday 22nd March) after teasing fans back in September. And Owner Simon Wade has heaped praise on the show which allowed him, alongside colleague Joe, to travel to various other hotels and B&B's across the UK. Simon said:

"It was a phenomenal experience and to take two weeks out of your business and away from your family is quite a big ask, but to be able to travel the country and stay at places that you wouldn't necessarily ever choose to go to in the first instance, it was wonderful."
https://www.facebook.com/granthamarms/posts/4124295350914589 The show, which aired on Channel 4 last night and is available to watch online, pits hotel and B&B owners against each other as they travel to and critique rival establishments. Simon and Joe from The Grantham Arms were first to host the other competitors and their visits to other venues will be broadcasted every night this week. Simon added:
"It can be (very competitive) but we were lucky in that we had some very like-minded competitors and we recognised that it's a TV show and ultimately are being caught out saying things that we wouldn't normally necessarily say! "You've got to be on your toes all the time. It's like playing chess and you're a piece on the board, and the producers are moving you around to where they want you to be to make the show a bit more exciting."
The Grantham Arms will be on Four in a Bed from 5pm on Channel 4 each night this week. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
