It’s with some excitement that I’m letting you know about some great news just announced by the communications regulator, Ofcom.

You’ll be aware that we have been lobbying very hard to get a specifically local DAB multiplex to provide local services here in Harrogate and Wetherby. Well, all that hard work and all that lobbying has paid off. Within months, Ofcom is to advertise for applications to set up and run a local dedicated DAB multiplex to provide specifically local services to Harrogate and Wetherby.

We’re delighted to share this information with you and also express our thanks to those local businesses which have assisted us with our campaign, as well as a variety of local businesses, organisations, councilors, and local MP, Andrew Jones.

The multiplex itself is likely to facilitate the opportunity for a small number of services in addition to Your Harrogate and we’d be delighted to hear from anyone who might be interested in broadcasting their existing service, or a new one, as part of the offering once the multiplex is launched. Equally, if you’d like to get involved in some other way, it’d be great to hear from you.

It’ll be brilliant to bring a more traditional broadcasting platform to Harrogate and Wetherby in the not too distant future and, like everything else Your Harrogate strives to do, to put the local community at the forefront of everything we do.

Best wishes,

Nick Hancock
