About Hookstone Chase Primary School
Hookstone Chase is an inclusive school set in the heart of a thriving community in Harrogate. The school benefits from a very large and beautiful site, and the curriculum has been adapted to use the outdoor spaces on a daily basis. Children benefit from a healthy and vibrant school day that focuses on everyone achieving excellence.
Our staff are creative and respectful, and the foundation stone of how we manage behaviour in school is that of ‘strong’ relationships. We understand that for children to thrive they must have a secure base in which they feel able to learn new skills. We equip all of our children with positive attributes that will prepare them for modern day life – diversity, equality and academic excellence.
Our children leave us as confident individuals ready to take on the challenges of high school. We provide lots of opportunities for our children to take on responsibilities and to step outside of their comfort zones to become the very best versions of themselves.
Hookstone Chase has a proud history of serving its community and many of our families are the second and third generation, enjoying the school. As such, we have strong relationships with our community and work to support local businesses and groups such as Harrogate Railway, local religious groups, charities and businesses.
Hookstone Chase is a no shouting school and we believe that behaviour – just like Maths and English – is something that can be taught. Nurturing principles have a strong thread through the school’s policies, and this is supported by the most recent four-legged member of staff to be recruited, Otto, our school nurture dog.
Ofsted rates Hookstone as a ‘good’ school, and school leaders are determined to keep improving school outcomes and partnerships to offer a world class education for all youngsters.
“The staff team shows a high level of commitment to and passion for providing the best possible educational experiences for pupils.” – Ofsted Inspectors, May 2019
Gift Back This Christmas
This year has been extremely challenging for us all, but for some it has been a real financial hardship. Two local sisters have pulled together in an effort to raise as much money as they can and help give back to local families and businesses who are in need of additional support more than ever this Christmas.
As a school that prides itself on our community, we have teamed up with local schools and businesses to help support this fantastic cause by reaching out to as many families as we possibly can. With your support, the girls can turn your generous donations into vouchers at local businesses including the Refilling Station, Kendall’s Farm Butchers, Avenue Bakery, Roots and Fruits Greengrocers, Games Crusade and Tiger Fifty7, to issue to families – including our own at Hookstone Chase – who need our help the most this year.
Please give generously by coming together and supporting our local community: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/giftbackforchristmas
