Your Harrogate Podcast - Episode 362

16 minutes | Friday, 8 November 2024

In this episode of the Your Harrogate Podcast, presenter Pete Egerton catches up with Harrogate Town's manager Simon Weaver, plus, we hear a heartbreaking story about the football coach who has been left partially paralysed following surgery.
On Sunday 3rd November, Harrogate Town caused one of the upsets of the first round of the FA Cup, by beating Hollywood-owned Wrexham.
Simon says everyone is still riding high following the victory, but now it's time to focus once more on the league and a clash with Morecambe this weekend (9th November).
The club are running a promotion in which under 18s get in for free and they will also be marking the remembrance weekend too.
Pete also speaks to Jules Hodson who is a coach at Harrogate Railway Ladies.
Jules underwent spinal surgery in June for an existing condition - but complications saw her sustain further damage to her spinal cord.
The 47-year-old was hospitalised for almost four months as a result.
She was recently discharged but has been left unable to walk unassisted and requires daily visits from carers and district nurses.
A fundraising campaign has been launched by Jules’ friend Anna Sealby, with the aim of funding private physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
