Town boss expects tough test from 'slippery' Oldham

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver is expecting a tough match this weekend as they travel to Oldham in League Two.

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver is expecting a tough match against Oldham this weekend in League Two. Town are currently in third place in League Two with 16 points from nine games. And despite their position in the league, Simon is expecting a tough test at next opponent Oldham. He said:

"We’ll certainly have to earn the right this weekend as they’ll be happy after that win in their local derby last week.

"They’re a slippery team in that they can break on you at pace and have some good players, but also were aware that that’s on the back of an indifferent run of form.

"If we can keep the fans quiet in the first 20 minutes and break on them ourselves, I think we can cause them problems."

Town suffered an injury blow in their last outing, with Rory McArdle limping off in their 0-0 stalemate with Stevenage. And after some time with specialists, it appears he'll be spending a long period on the sidelines. Simon added:

"It’s not good news, he’s going to be out for a few months. He’s going to be operated on being a specialist as he’s torn a muscle in his groin area.

"It’s very unfortunate news for us as he’s been a mainstay in the team."
