Heavy rain is expected to hit Harrogate in the coming days, with an amber weather warning in place for most of Yorkshire.

The warning came into place at 6am this morning (Tuesday 19th January) lasting until 12pm on Thursday, with some areas expecting more than two inches of rain over the next 48 hours.

The heavy rainfall, known as ‘Storm Christoph’, is expected to combine with melted snow and could bring ‘multiple hazards’ according to the Met Office.

The amber warning also warns that homes and businesses could be flooded, with the danger of fast-flowing and deep water causing risk to life.
