Skipton to welcome chart-topping bands for launch of brand new festival

Aireville Park in Skipton is set to play host to the new Gateways festival that will see chart-topping bands take to the stage in August.

Aireville Park in Skipton is set to play host to a new festival that will see chart-topping bands and acts take to the stage in August. Gateways is a new live music and outdoor cinema event coming to Aireville Park from 6th-8th August 2021, featuring headliners Razorlight and Feeder together with a string of top acts including Lightning Seeds, Scouting for Girls, Dodgy and Toploader, amongst others. The family-friendly festival will run for three days and will include a fun-fair, stalls, festival-style food, live music and an outdoor movie night which will take place on the Friday. Originally expected to launch last year but unfortunately cancelled due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Event Director, Eddie Smith said he was looking forward to the delayed establishment in summer 2021. Speaking about their decision to launch the festival in Skipton he said:

"We saw there was a gap in the market for this type of event and agreed that Skipton was the perfect location. Aireville Park is perfectly located against a backdrop of stunning scenery and is in an ideal setting for families to relax and enjoy themselves."
Explaining the 'Gateways' name behind the festival, he added:
"Skipton is well known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ so let’s just say the festival name was definitely influenced by this tag. "The team behind Gateways have over 130 years’ experience within the events industry and are excited to welcome people to a safe and well organised event. We hope the public like what we have to offer and it becomes a regular fixture in the annual calendar of events."
