Skipton primary school joins Yorkshire multi academy trust

Parish C of E Primary School, Skipton has started the new academic year as a member of the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust.

Parish C of E Primary School, Skipton has started the new academic year as a member of the multi academy trust, Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust.

The staff at Parish Primary will be supported by a newly formed governing body, which will include representatives of the local Skipton community as well as staff and parent governors.

Joining eight other primary and secondary schools, the move has been welcomed by Lucy Peberdy, Headteacher of the School.

She said:

"We are delighted to have embarked on this journey with Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust.

"Our school is founded on the same Christian values as the Trust and we look forward to working with Yorkshire Causeway and the other schools within the Trust to support continuous improvement and to provide a wide range of exciting learning opportunities for the pupils in our care."

Lucy Peberdy also thanked staff, governors and parents for their support over the last year.

Chris Burt, Executive Leader of Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust, has welcomed the School to the Trust:

"After a period working alongside Parish Primary, we are delighted to formally welcome the School to Yorkshire Causeway.

"The hard work and dedication of staff and children within the school is clear to see. I have no doubt that the School’s unwavering commitment to providing the very best for every pupil will continue to have a positive impact on outcomes for all the children at Parish, both now and in the future.

"We are looking forward to continuing to get to know the whole school community over the coming months."

Richard Noake, Diocesan Director of Education for Leeds offered his congratulations to the school.

He said:

"The Diocese is delighted that Parish C of E Primary School has joined Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust.

"We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the School, ensuring that the pupils continue to achieve and flourish in the spirit of the Diocesan values of Loving, Living, Learning."
