Ripon City Centre will be hosting its usual New Year’s Eve celebrations with residents set to join together in the countdown to 2022.

Ripon Market Square will be hosting festivities in the form of live music from Boy Band and Oasis tribute acts.

There will also be hot food and drink stalls selling soft drinks and snacks – all starting from 9:30pm until shortly before midnight.

The celebrations also extend to Ripon Cathedral, which will be hosting its annual Watchnight service from 11:15pm-11:45pm.

This is followed by a procession to join the celebrations in Market Square to see in the New Year at midnight.

A spokesperson for Ripon City Council said:

“This year Ripon City Council is organising a much-enhanced New Year’s Eve celebration to herald the start of 2022.

“It’s the biggest New Year’s Eve party in North Yorkshire!”

The city’s usual fireworks display will take place in the market square – this year from the land behind Ripon Town Hall.

Eamon Parkin, Mayor of Ripon, will also address the audience before midnight.
