Ripon businesses offering 'late night shopping' before second lockdown

A number of Ripon businesses are set to offer 'late night shopping' on the last day before the UK goes into a second lockdown.

A number of Ripon businesses are set to offer 'late night shopping' today (Wednesday 4th November) on the last day before the UK goes into a second lockdown. M&Co, Carlton Couture Bridal and The Works are among the Ripon businesses extending their closing times to allow customers to support their local high street before shops are forced to close. The move comes after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new lockdown measures that will see all non-essential shops close from Thursday 5th November until 2nd December. [caption id="attachment_2978" align="alignnone" width="2560"] All non-essential shops are being forced to close from Thursday 5th November.[/caption] Sophie Hattersley, Assistant Manager at M&Co Ripon, announced the clothing shops' plans via social media and called for other local businesses to follow suit. Posting on 'Blow your Horn', a Facebook group for Ripon residents, Sophie wrote:

"As we all know, now our local high street will be closing down again, at M&Co, we're going to be doing a late night shopping on Wednesday. I was just wondering if any other local businesses would like to join us to create some community spirt in Ripon and give people the chance to shop outside of the busy hours to stay safe while still supporting our local high street?"
