In the absence of this year’s event, organisers of the Harrogate & District Volunteering Oscars are urging the community to ‘raise a glass’ in support of all the fantastic volunteers across the area.

The annual volunteering awards were due to take place on Friday 30th October before being cancelled due to Covid-19.

However, this year organisers hope that people will unite over social media to salute those who have given their free time to help others – particularly during the current global pandemic.

Resurrected Bites

The fantastic team at Resurrected Bites were among those featured in the ‘Celebration of Volunteering’ presentation.

People wishing to participate can do so by uploading a selfie of them ‘raising a glass’ at 7pm on Friday 30th October, tagging @VolunteerOscars and using the hashtag #NeverMoreNeeded.

Although the event could not take place as normal, organisers were able to hold a ‘Celebration of Volunteering’ presentation at the end of the Harrogate & District Community Action Annual General Meeting on Thursday 15th October:
