North Yorkshire Police are hosting a community engagement meeting in Ripon next week.

Neighbourhood officers are inviting residents to voice any community issues, tensions or criminality affected them at the meeting on Monday 16th May.

It will be held at the Jack Laugher Leisure and Wellness Centre on Dallamires Lane between 8pm and 9pm, chaired by Ripon Neighbourhoods Inspector Alex Langley.

A police statement said:

“The purpose of this meeting is to ensure your voice is heard with regards to how your community is policed.

“By voicing your concerns direct to us you will enable North Yorkshire Police to target and tailor our resources and plans to better meet your needs and prevent issues or escalation in your community.

“This is an open invite to all local residents, concerned people and partners agencies that are concerned in community support to come along and provide your perspective.”

Officers plan to share current crime statistics and trends, whilst providing residents with an operational overview of how the area is currently policed and also reveal proposed plans for the future.
