Police arrested a motorist who was four times over the legal drink drive limit yesterday (Wednesday).
The offender was stopped at Wetherby services by officers from West and North Yorkshire Police at around 2pm.
He provided an evidential breath specimen of 147 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Roads Policing Sgt Paul Cording said it was “unbelievable”.
One of my team then assisted our @WestYorksPolice colleagues at #Wetherby services with a driver who unbelievably provided an evidential breath specimen more than 4 times the legal limit! He remains in custody until he is fit to be dealt with #Fatal5 pic.twitter.com/BiCdy8PbKF

Elsewhere officers dealt with a motorcyclist at Menwith Hill who had been “evasive” when asked for key information.
After looking into the rider, he was found to have no licence, insurance, MOT or vehicle excise licence.
He was subsequently reported to the court and his bike was seized.
