No Covid fines issued in Harrogate district last week

North Yorkshire Police say their officers didn't hand out any fines for breaking Covid-19 regulations in the Harrogate district last week.

North Yorkshire Police say their officers didn't hand out any fines for breaking Covid-19 regulations in the Harrogate district last week. From 5th April to 11th April, a total of 48 fines were issued in the whole force area, 39 of which were in Scarborough borough, and the rest were in Ryedale and Hambleton. And since restrictions eased at the start of this week, officers haven't yet had to give out any fixed penalty notices anywhere in North Yorkshire. Chief Inspector Charlotte Bloxham, of North Yorkshire Police, said:

"My overriding plea is for everyone to keep following the health protection regulations and the hands, face, space and fresh air safety measures, to help keep the Roadmap Out of Lockdown on track. "The gradual easing of the lockdown is very much welcomed. Our policing teams will continue to play their part, alongside our community partners, to keep people safe as we move towards a more normal way of living. "We can reach this goal by working together. As we’ve said before, we’ve got to keep this effort going until the pandemic is under control. We’re heading in the right direction but we’re not there yet."
