New food bank to open in Starbeck next week

A new food bank will be opening on High Street in Starbeck next week. The Life Destiny Church, which is found at the rear of the Methodist Church in Starbeck, will be the venue of a new food bank from Thursday 8th April. The food bank will be open every Thursday between 10:30am and 12:30pm. https://www.facebook.com/HarrogateFoodbank/posts/4406418472708600 Dawn Pearson, Project Manager for the new food bank, said:

"We've been planning for a while to open a new food bank in Starbeck. "We've stocked the cupboards with food and can't wait to invite clients in now because what we've found is that under-privileged people in Starbeck who were struggling to get food were having to go all the way to Knaresborough. We want to make it more convenient and more accessible for them. "There will be some nice banners outside and advertising. Don't be afraid or ashamed to come in, we're here to help so please come and get that help."
Harrogate Foodbank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Each foodbank provides a minimum of three days emergency food and support to local people in crisis. Find out more about Harrogate Foodbank here. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
