A new food bank will be opening on High Street in Starbeck next week.

The Life Destiny Church, which is found at the rear of the Methodist Church in Starbeck, will be the venue of a new food bank from Thursday 8th April.

The food bank will be open every Thursday between 10:30am and 12:30pm.

Dawn Pearson, Project Manager for the new food bank, said:

“We’ve been planning for a while to open a new food bank in Starbeck.

“We’ve stocked the cupboards with food and can’t wait to invite clients in now because what we’ve found is that under-privileged people in Starbeck who were struggling to get food were having to go all the way to Knaresborough. We want to make it more convenient and more accessible for them.

“There will be some nice banners outside and advertising. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to come in, we’re here to help so please come and get that help.”

Harrogate Foodbank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
