New chairman to 'reinvigorate' Wetherby business association

The new Chairman of Wetherby Business Association is aiming to 'reinvigorate' the organisation and how it supports the town.

The new Chairman of Wetherby Business Association is aiming to 'reinvigorate' the organisation and how it supports the town. Jamie Hullah was appointed as the Chairman of the group last month and has begun plans to overhaul the support available to local businesses. The group are undergoing a rebrand and will be introducing a new app to allow businesses to offer deals and offers to customers. And Jamie is also keen for the group to be heavily involved in Wetherby's various community activities, including Christmas lights and local bonfires.

He told Your Harrogate:

"We’re looking to reinvigorate the association, because it hasn’t really had anything happen for a couple of years now!

"We’re in the process of rebranding, so there will be a new logo which we think will reflect the association going forward, and we’re putting together a brand new website working in tandem with an app as well."

The new app will give customers special offers and deals for participating businesses. And Jamie believes, through these new additions, that the association can further support Wetherby businesses whilst attracting new customers to the town. He added:

"The business association is there to help the businesses, give them somewhere to go and if they have any issues then hopefully I’ll be the person to take that forward.

"Theres anything and everything you could possibly want in Wetherby, it’s a lovely place to go."
Businesses can choose to join the Wetherby Business Association - with membership fees being used to give back and improve the town's offering. And Jamie spoke of the important that the group support local events, such as the Wetherby Christmas lights and local bonfire:

“We want to use our membership fees to do good in the area. One of the things the association has done well in the past is assist with Wetherby lights, and we’re also this year working with Wetherby Town Council to ensure the funds are there to put on the local town bonfire.

"I want to make sure the members know their money is being used for the good of the area."
