Major milestone for Harrogate Town's Lloyd Kerry

Harrogate Town's Lloyd Kerry came off the bench in last weekend's 2 nil defeat at Port Vale and marked his 200th appearance for the club

As Harrogate Town prepare to take on Stevenage in league two this weekend, midfielder Lloyd Kerry is hoping he did enough to impress during Tuesday night's draw at Crawley, in order to feature in the starting 11 once more. When Kerry came off the bench in last weekend's (18th September) 2 nil defeat at Port Vale, it marked the player's 200th appearance for Town, a milestone which Lloyd is understandably proud of:

"It's a great football club; from the first day I joined, I've enjoyed my time here. When I joined we were in the Conference North, so things have changed and progressed since then. This is my eighth season and I've loved every minute. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few setbacks with my injuries, but we've had some great memories over the years."
Although tough to single out one particular highlight, Harrogate's longest serving player cites promotion to the football league as the standout moment of his career so far:
"Although no fans were there, the occasion was still massive and the achievement was massive for the club."
Lloyd has also praised the family values, good characters and work ethic of the club and says that is why they have been successful, because Simon Weaver has chosen the right personnel who have built solid foundations from which they have grown into a respected league outfit. Speaking of this weekend's opponents, Lloyd describes Stevenage as:
"Slippery customers who we had a couple of tough games against last season. Although they've not started that well in the league, they have a good side and so we won't underestimate them as we know it's going to be a tough game. Hopefully the fans can get behind us, like they did in the Friday game against Newport, and hopefully we can put on a good performance for them and get the three points."
Town currently lie third in the league two table, just four points from the top and Stevenage sit in 21st place with just eight points so far. The match kicks off at 3PM (25th September) at the Envirovent stadium. Listen to Your Harrogate's Pete Egerton chatting to Lloyd Kerry below.
