The latest data shows the Harrogate district has the highest rate of new coronavirus cases, say North Yorkshire County Council.

The seven-day rate for the Harrogate district, based on the seven days up to 28th February, is 71 cases per 100,000 people.

In a close second is Richmondshire on 69, with Hambleton (58) and Selby (55) in third and fourth.

Then comes Scarborough on 44, Ryedale on 36 and the lowest rate is in Craven with 30.

However, the good news is that the rate in almost all of those districts, including Harrogate, is going down, apart from Ryedale where it’s the stayed the same.

And, the seven day rate for all parts of North Yorkshire is lower than the England average of 81 per 100,000 people.
