Knaresborough vaccine site urges people 'not to waste their time' after nearly 450 'no-shows'

Bosses at Knaresborough’s coronavirus vaccine site are urging people not to ‘waste their time’ after almost 450 people failed to turn up for their appointments in the space of a week.

Bosses at Knaresborough’s coronavirus vaccine site are urging people not to ‘waste their time’ after almost 450 people failed to turn up for their appointments in the space of a week. On Good Friday alone, they had 219 no-shows, as well as a further 210 over two previous days. Homecare Pharmacy Services who run the site are pleading with people to cancel their appointments if they don't intend to turn up. They say anyone who doesn't need their appointment anymore because they've been vaccinated elsewhere, or anyone who's changed their mind and doesn't want the vaccine, should call 119 or go online to cancel their appointment. They've added that tens of thousands of over 50s and health staff in North Yorkshire are still waiting for their vaccines, and people not showing up for appointments slows down the vaccine programme and prevents other people who are waiting from getting their jabs. In better news, the Knaresborough site has now passed the milestone of administering over 10,000 vaccine doses.   [embed]https://www.facebook.com/HomecarePharmacyServices/posts/207565207833545[/embed]   Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here
