An open rehearsal from Knaresborough Silver Band has given audiences a glimpse at their upcoming beer festival performance.

The band held the rehearsal in the Castle Yard for Make Music Day on Tuesday 21st June.

The band rehearsed familiar hymn tunes and popular pieces and marches, including Sailor’s Hornpipe and Death or Glory.

A spokesperson for the band said:

“The rehearsal was well received by an appreciative audience and enjoyed by the band players on a perfect summer’s evening.”

They will be playing again on 21st August at the Knaresborough Beer Festival.

The band runs a Beginners’ group in Knaresborough every Tuesday between 7:30pm – 8pm for new and returning players, followed by the main band rehearsals from 8-9:30pm.

There are currently vacancies for Cornet, Tenor Horn and Euphonium. Enquiries should be emailed to knaresboroughsilver@gmail.com or via Facebook.
