Harrogate Town AFC have confirmed the loan signing of Josh McPake from Scottish giants Rangers, until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old winger is a youth product of The Ibrox club and was their Academy Player of the Year for 2018–19 season, having won the SPFL Reserve League, the Under-18 League and the Scottish Youth Cup that season. The campaign before that saw McPake win the Glasgow Cup.

McPake has also represented Scotland at youth level and has so far made six appearances for the Under 19s side.

Having impressed in the development squads at his boyhood club, McPake went on to make his professional debut for Rangers in July 2019, coming on as a substitute in a UEFA Europa League qualifying match against Gibraltese side, St Joseph’s at Ibrox Stadium.

For the 2019/20 season, the Scotsman spent time on loan at Championship side Dundee FC before an ankle injury hindered his progress with the Dark Blues.

McPake joined Greenock Morton on loan at the start of this campaign until January, with the winger now joining up with Town ahead of Saturday’s match against Cambridge United.

The club’s fifth new arrival of the week will wear the number 28 shirt.
