Harrogate Town fans have paid tribute to Connor Hall following his permanent move to Port Vale.

The defender made over 100 appearances for Town, including two appearances at Wembley Stadium.

The 28-year-old also scored a memorable goal in Town’s National League play-off final, helping the club reach the football league for the first ever time.

First team manager Simon Weaver said:

“I want to wish Connor the very best of luck. He’s played a big part in our progress over the last few years and in particular his goal at Wembley in the Play-Off Final will always be remembered with great fondness.”

And Harrogate Town fans have flocked to social media to thank him for his efforts since joining the club in 2019.

Season ticket holder Jordan Ford said:

“Good luck Connor. You’ve been one of the main reasons the club is where it is today.

“All the best and good luck at Port Vale (apart from when you play Town!) Really hope the club have got an experienced replacement lined up.”

Supporter Dave Martin added:

“Gutted! What a super player. All the best Connor.”

New signing

Meanwhile Harrogate Town have announced the arrival of a player moving in the opposite direction in the form of 36-year-old defender Leon Legge.

The experienced defender made over 100 appearances for Port Vale over the past three seasons.

Defender Leon Legge has made the move to Harrogate Town.

Standing at 6ft4, Legge has been described as a “no-nonsense defender who prides himself on winning aerial duels and keeping a clean sheet.”

Manager Simon Weaver said:

“We are really delighted to bring Leon in. We believe he will add aggression and leadership to our group.

“It remains so important to win the first ball in both boxes and we will be asking Leon to do that for us.

“Off the pitch, I know the lads will benefit from his professionalism, knowledge and dedication to the game.”

Legge will wear number 20 at Harrogate Town.
