Harrogate District Swimming Club have enjoyed Yorkshire Championships success after scooping 13 gold medals.

The team competed in the championships at both John Charles pool in Leeds and the Ponds Forge international Pool in Sheffield.

And as well as 13 gold medals, the team also received 45 top ten finishes – 27 of which were podiums.

Gold medals were won by Gabe Shepherd, Connie Milburn, Nell Carter, Amelia Wright, Lois Child and Alfie Charlton.

Other medalists included Sophie Murray and Jess Reilly, as well as many members of the team picking up top 10 finishes, including Lily Stansfield, competing in her very first competition.

Club Representative Brian Charlton said:

“A huge well done to everyone who competed, some amazing races along with a few heart breaking disappointments – but overall so many positives for the club moving forward to the next competition.

“The North East England championships are just around the corner, from where we are hopeful there will be even more success – but most of all lots and lots of happy swimming faces!”
