Harrogate care company offering free and safe transportation to vaccination appointments

A Harrogate home care company are offering to give free and safe transportation to people concerned about getting to their Covid-19 vaccination appointments. Visiting Angels North Yorkshire West, who provide care at home services across Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Nidderdale and Wharfedale, have kindly offered their services to a growing number of vulnerable people who are concerned about getting to appointments safely. Their small team of drivers will be on hand to help those who cannot walk or drive to appointments themselves, or are concerned about the safety of using public transport. https://twitter.com/VAnorthyorkwest/status/1351606375546281984

The home care company are also offering free companionship visits alongside the transport to help combat social isolation, which is still increasing during the third national lockdown.

Colleen Gruenwald from Visiting Angels North Yorkshire West said:

"With the third lockdown well underway, we are finding people who are worried about going out to go appointments, include going to get their Covid-19 vaccination.

"Here at Visiting Angels we would like to offer free Covid-safe transportation for those in this position. Visiting Angels cover North and West Yorkshire to include Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Nidderdale & Wharfedale."
