Fostering North Yorkshire are making a guest appearance at Fountains Abbey parkrun this Saturday (2nd July).

The team will be marshalling the race and cheering on runners whilst offering advice and answering questions around fostering.

Fountains Abbey parkrun takes place every Saturday and sees runners complete a free 5km fun run.

A spokesperson for Fostering North Yorkshire said:

“We’ll be wearing our lovely blue Fostering North Yorkshire t shirts so you can spot us – plus there’ll be a fostering stand in the visitor centre café after the run, where you can pick up some info to take home…

“So whether you are planning to run, gently jog or even walk – head over to Fountains Abbey on 2nd July to meet our team – the run starts at 9 am – see you there!”

Fostering North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire County Council’s fostering agency look after more than 300 children and young people at any one time.

They range from babies to teenagers, come from many backgrounds, and have various needs, but they have one thing in common – they are all in need of a caring family to help them feel safe, secure and happy.

The agency does not profit from any of the work they do and always aim to keep young people within the county, ideally as local as possible.
