Fire crews have had to rescue two teenage boys from the middle of a pond at the golf course at Rudding Park in Harrogate.

The pair, who were believed to have been trespassing, got stuck on a wooden pontoon shortly after 6pm on Sunday evening.

Firefighters used throw lines to reach the boys and pull the pontoon to shore.

They were successfully rescued and were unharmed.

Two fire engines from Harrogate and one from Knaresborough attended the scene.
