Competition will allow one business to trade for free at Harrogate Christmas Fayre

Destination Harrogate and Market Place Europe are give young businesses an amazing opportunity this Christmas as part of the Jolly Big Business Boost competition.

Competition will allow one business to trade for free at Harrogate Christmas Fayre Harrogate Christmas Fayre is set to return for a third year – and organisers are giving one business the opportunity to trade for free. Destination Harrogate has teamed up with Market Place Europe to give young businesses the unique opportunity as part of the 'Jolly Big Business Boost' competition. The winners will trade at the Harrogate Christmas Fayre from 1st until 17th December. John McGivern, Destination Events Manager, Destination Harrogate, said:

“Since our first event in 2021, we’ve seen Harrogate Christmas Fayre grow bigger and better. "Together with the town centre attractions and festivities taking place across the whole area, we can look forward to our Christmas events attracting visitors from further afield, as well as more locally. "The Jolly Big Business Boost supports our amazing local businesses to maximise this opportunity, which Christmas in Harrogate offers, and we’d encourage all interested and eligible businesses to take part in the initiative."

The Jolly Big Business competition focuses on providing recently established businesses a platform to sell their products. With thousands of visitors expected to attend this year’s Harrogate Christmas Fayre, it’s also a great opportunity to build awareness of their brand. Nick Rhodes, Chief Executive of Market Place Europe said:
“The Jolly Big Business Boost competition has proven to be a great way to support new local businesses and uncover some of North Yorkshire's most exciting entrepreneurs. "With such a range of high-quality businesses in this region, we are delighted to be in a position to offer this opportunity once again and we eagerly anticipate some innovative applications.’’
This year’s winner will be chosen by a panel of judges drawn from across the Harrogate business community and organisers of the Harrogate Christmas Fayre. The judges are on the lookout for eye-catching, exciting and creative products. Matthew Chapman, Harrogate BID Manager, said:
“At Harrogate BID we are extremely excited and proud to be partnering with Destination Harrogate again for Christmas 2023. "From the Christmas Fayre to the free road train, Harrogate is famed for its unique and special offer, and it’s great to see Christmas in the town and beyond grow in stature each year. "The Jolly Big Business Boost competition gives a great opportunity to give something back to our businesses, which make Harrogate great all year round, and to celebrate our distinctive Christmas offer.”
