A specialist college in Harrogate is set to offer virtual open days to prospective students and their families.
Henshaws Specialist College, who offer residential programmes for students with special education needs and disabilities, have only been able to provide limited access to their site due to Covid-19 restrictions.
But, through the power of technology, Henshaws are set to give prospective families the chance to experience their facilities virtually.
Principal Adrian Sugden said:
“Being familiar with a setting is often very important to our students and, when they join us, we aim for them to be comfortable both with the buildings and the staff which is something which we can usually achieve through visits.
“However, to ensure everyone is safe during this period we are offering a virtual open day on Wednesday 21st October. We’re also offering bespoke, out of hours tours in addition to a virtual tour web page.
“We hope to enable students to see where they might be and who they might meet, so that they and their families can make the best decision.”
Virtual Open Days
The virtual open day will see families introduced to the Transitions team at the College, who will provide information about the College and the application process.
Wherever possible, the team are also offering bespoke out of hours tours, so that families can visit the campus after current students have left for the day.
Adrian Sugden said:
“We deliver transformational and sustainable life changing experiences and learning through bespoke education, care, therapy and clinical programmes.
“We hope to give families an insight into all the amazing things happening at Henshaws College, while keeping everyone safe. There are places available for September 2021 and we welcome young people and their families to join us at these events.”
