It’s Wetherby’s big Christmas light switch on later this week – and they’re set to be joined by a very special celebrity guest.

Broadcasting legend Chris Kamara, famous for his antics on SkySports, will be switching on the lights on Thursday (25th November).

The football commentator will be joining colleague Bray Law, who will be comparing the events throughout the evening in Wetherby’s Market Place.

The Wetherby Christmas lights event is being organised by Wetherby Business Association and will feature fairground rides, a raffle and other festive entertainment.

Little Bird will also be hosting an artisan market on the day.

Jackie Crozier, Director of Little Bird markets,Β said:

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Wetherby Business Association and this is a great opportunity for all our staff and traders to celebrate switching on the lights with the local community.

“It will be a great night out for all ages, our stall holders will be selling lots of festive goods and with the local shops open as well, you can start your Christmas shopping while supporting your local community at the same time.”

All money raised on the night will go to terminal illness charity Marie Curie UK.
