Yesterday’s heavy snow showers caused a lot of disruption across the area and it appears the chaos has continued – with several schools choosing to remain closed today due to dangerous roads and pathways.

3:44pm – Harrogate Town match rescheduled
Harrogate Town’s postponed fixture with Exeter City has been rescheduled for Tuesday evening (19th January) at 6:30pm.
The game was unable to go ahead at the EnviroVent Stadium tomorrow afternoon due to a frozen pitch, but has been swiftly rescheduled.

3:22pm – Harrogate Borough Council postpone waste collections planned for tomorrow
Harrogate Borough Council have postponed all household waste and recycling collections tomorrow (Saturday 16th January) with more snow predicted for Harrogate overnight.
The council have said they will resume on the next scheduled collection date and have apologised for any inconvenience caused.
Unfortunately, any outstanding recycling won’t be collected until the next scheduled recycling collection date (please use carrier bags or open boxes for any additional recycling you might have).

Flyer will be running fewer buses than usual to Leeds Bradford Airport from Harrogate and Bradford.
The next bus will be at 3pm.

2:04pm – National Rail running reduced service at Harrogate until close of play tomorrow
National Rail have announced a reduced service will run at Harrogate until the end of the day tomorrow (Saturday 16th January) having seen major disruption due to the weather.
There are currently a number of faults with the signalling system in the Harrogate area and trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised.

1:59pm – Vaccinations at Great Yorkshire Showground rescheduled
Vaccinations set to take place at The Great Yorkshire Showground tomorrow have been postponed until Sunday due to icy conditions in the car park.
Edwina told Your Harrogate she was due to take her father for a vaccination tomorrow morning, before being told the appointment would be pushed back by 24 hours.
1:50pm – Yorkshire Water give update on burst main in Harrogate
Yorkshire Water have apologised for the delay in fixing a burst water main in Harrogate.
The team are currently waiting for traffic management to arrive before they can continue with repairs.

Flyer have been forced to cancel their 9:30am A2 bus from Bradford and 11am bus from Harrogate to Leeds Bradford Airport.
The next service will be at 10:30am from Bradford and 12pm from Harrogate.

There have been some delays to LNER services this morning caused by faults with the signalling system in the Harrogate area.

A fallen tree has damaged the signalling system between Leeds and Horsforth.
Northern will be running fewer services between Leeds and York via Harrogate to allow engineers to make repairs safely.

8:20am – Harrogate Bus Company reveal different routes for some buses due to conditions
Harrogate bus company have said that their usual 21 service is running directly between Knaresborough, Minskip and Boroughbridge but is unable to reach stops in the villages.
The 2B service from Harrogate to Bilton/New Park will use the normal route as far as Bachelor Gardens, but will be missing stops at The Knox and Skipton Road. Buses are using Crab Lane and Bilton Lane instead.
The 1 is only running between Harrogate and Knaresborough bus station, and 2A from Harrogate to Bilton/Dene Park isn’t able to reach the stops on Dene Park.

Yorkshire Water are aware and in the middle of tackling a burst pipe in HG1 on Crescent Road this morning.
They’ve also asked for residents to be patient, with the weather conditions meaning their team could take a little bit longer than usual to arrive on site.
