Betty’s in Harrogate is set to feature on BBC Two’s ‘Remarkable Places to Eat’ tonight (Tuesday 30th March).
The show sees leading chefs take host Fred Sirieix, best known from Channel 4’s ‘First Dates’, to experience the restaurants where they genuinely love to eat.
And this week’s episode features Nadiya Hussain, winner of the Great British Bake Off 2015, as she takes Fred to some of her favourite places to eat in Yorkshire – including Betty’s on Parliament Street in Harrogate.
I confess. I’m a dunker. And I put cream on my scones first. Then jam #remarkableplacestoeat is back on the 30th March at 8pm @BBCTwo with the Queen of Cakes @BegumNadiya pic.twitter.com/UAWi6NgwAf

In a short teaser clip for the show, Nadiya heaped praise on the iconic fat rascal as both she and Fred tucked into the treats at Betty’s:
“If we were going to sum up Yorkshire in a sweet treat, it would be a fat rascal, because it’s delicious, it’s indulgent, it’s simple and it’s fun!”
Fred added:
“I would love to know how to make these – can I have the recipe?”
As well as calling into Betty’s, the pair sample authentic Indian eats, world-class cheese and the freshest crab.
Tune in to Remarkable Places to Eat on BBC Two, Tuesday 30th March at 8pm.
