Local charity, Supporting Older People, have put smiles back on the faces of the area’s older generation with a “Tea and Talk” event at the Crown Hotel, Harrogate.

Tea and Talk provides an opportunity for like-minded people in Harrogate to get together over afternoon tea and hear from a guest speaker.

Carefound Home Care were delighted to sponsor the return of the event, with Carol Sherwood, Recruitment and Community Manager, giving a talk about how their care teams have supported older people during COVID-19.

Carol also discussed the benefits of Carefound Home Care’s hourly home care and live-in care services, either for older people requiring low level care, or for families seeking specialist care as an alternative to a care home.

Julia Lightfoot, Befriending & Activities Manager at Supporting Older People in Harrogate, said:

“A huge thank you to Carefound Home Care for sponsoring our Tea and Talk event at The Crown Hotel. We were delighted to welcome Carol who gave an excellent and informative talk on the work of Carefound Home Care. Carol took the time to chat individually to the members of the Tea and Talk group who found the session very interesting.”

Carol Sherwood, Recruitment and Community Manager at Carefound Home Care in Harrogate, said:

“After 15 months of not being able to meet in the community it was an absolute pleasure to be invited to support the Harrogate Tea & Talk event.”

“I was very proud to share how our team have protected and supported our clients during COVID-19, whilst ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff. The positive outcomes from this have shown why home care is so often the preferred care option for families. Being back out in the community and raising awareness is the most enjoyable part of my role and it was wonderful to engage with such a welcoming audience and to be able to speak with people individually.”
