A Christmas Carol production to be held in town that inspired Charles Dickens' story

Malton market place will play host to an immersive production of 'A Christmas Carol' later this year.

Malton market place will play host to an immersive production of 'A Christmas Carol' later this year. Theatre company Be Amazing Arts will bring Charles Dickens' famous story to the town, involving audiences at various local hotspots. And it was Dickens' connection with Malton that drew the production company to the North Yorkshire town. James Aconley, Producer, said:

"When we decided to produce a performance of A Christmas Carol for this December there was just no question of where it would take place. "What lots of people don’t know is that there is a great connection between Charles Dickens and Malton. "Dickens actually based Scrooge’s counting house on his friend’s office on Chancery Lane in Malton and as our research continued, we found more and more connections between Dickens and the town. "We really can’t wait to share this unique and immersive performance with our audience this Christmas. It will certainly be something a bit different but also very festive and magical."
Starting at Kemps General Store & Kemps Books, the promenade show ticket price includes a food platter from The Cooks Place Malton. Performances take place on 18th – 23rd December at 7pm and 24th December at 5pm. Tickets are available at www.beamazingarts.co.uk Tickets include a festive platter from The Cook’s Place Malton and a warm winter drink. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
