How local businesses can support each other during Black Friday

As we navigate through these challenging and uncertain economic times, the plight of small businesses has become increasingly evident.

The landscape of our high streets is changing, and the way people shop has been fundamentally altered since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This shift presents both challenges and opportunities for local retailers, especially as we approach the festive season.

The Christmas period is traditionally a prosperous time for small retailers.

It is not only crucial for financial stablity but also serves as a unique opportunity to connect with new customers who venture out to experience the festive atmosphere.

This is a time when local shops can shine, showcasing their unique offerings and fostering community spirit.

However, the rise of Black Friday poses a significant threat to small businesses.

Many local retailers struggle to compete with the deep discounts offered by large online retailers.

With brick-and-mortar locations, smaller budgets, and higher operational costs, the ability to match these prices can be catastrophic for small businesses.

The impact of this competition can be felt not just in sales figures but in the very fabric of our community.

To highlight the importance of supporting small businesses and to ensure their continued survival for the benefit of our town, Heal is taking a stand this Black Friday weekend (November 29th - December 1st).

We will be offering a 10% discount to our customers, but we are also inviting our guests to consider donating their savings to St. Michael's Hospice.

We understand that some may prefer to keep their discount, and that is absolutely okay!

However, for those who feel able, we encourage you to make your purchase count by supporting a local charity that makes a difference in our community.

Small businesses are deeply invested in their communities in ways that large corporate entities simply cannot replicate.

By choosing to shop small, you are not only supporting local retailers but also contributing to the vibrancy and diversity of our high street.

Together, we can make a meaningful impact, especially during this festive season when many in our community are facing challenges.

Let's come together to keep our high street alive and thriving.

Choose to shop small this holiday season, and help improve the lives of those around you.

Your support matters now more than ever.
