A Wellness Check at Claro Hill Vets is a 30-minute appointment with the nurse or vet to assess all aspects of your pet’s health.
Even healthy-looking pets can have hidden issues that may go unnoticed at home, but routine testing can detect.
By identifying these issues early, we can take action that benefits the long-term health of the pet.
But what’s more, test with normal results provide a good baseline information to better understand the pet’s health now and for years to come.
What is included in a Wellness check?
What can we rule out on a Wellness Check?
- Complete clinical history Physical exam with a nurse / vet
- Full urine test
- Blood pressure measurement
- Full blood tests to assess haematology (red and white blood cell counts) and biochemistry (their organ function).
- High or low blood pressure
What age does my pet have to be to have a Wellness Check?
Ideally over the age of 1 years old.
At this age your pet should be fully grown and this is a great time to get a baseline level for bloods, urinalysis and blood pressure.

1 in 7 dogs between the age of 1 year old and 3 year old had some abnormalities detected on their Wellness Check

What does it cost?
The Wellness Check cost £100, saving over £115 if all of the items and procedures were priced up individually.
If any further tests or investigations are recommended, you will be given an estimate for future costs.
