Harewood House have released a video of the diversion that will allow visitors to get around the closure of Harewood Bridge.

The bridge, which is used by around 17,000 vehicles each day, will be closed in both directions for works from Wednesday (26th July) until Thursday 24th August. Essential maintenance and waterproofing work will be carried out to coincide with the school summer holidays, when there is considered to be reduced levels of traffic. And the diversion route, which will add an extra 10 minutes to the journey from Harrogate to Harewood House, will incorporate the A658 towards Pool in Wharfedale. Watch the diversion here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cDk9tosyf4 Diversion route directions – At the Buttersyke Bar roundabout, exit the roundabout onto Harrogate Road (A658) – Continue along the A658 for 5.3 miles until you reach the mini roundabout at Pool in Wharfedale – At the mini roundabout take the left exit onto Arthington Lane (A659) – Continue on the A659 for 4.4 miles, then turn right onto Harrogate Road to join the A61 – Continue on the A61/Harrogate Road into Harewood village Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to cross the bridge during the four weeks, managed by the on-site construction team. Councillor Helen Hayden, Leeds City Council’s executive member for infrastructure and climate, said:
“By carrying out the repair works during the school summer holidays we can hopefully limit the disruption with expected lower traffic levels. “We apologise in advance for the potential disruption and ask road users for their patience.
