The Best Late Night Entertainment in and around Harrogate

All the late night entertainment in Harrogate

Harrogate is a town that has a lot to offer anyone looking for a place to visit for the day or a longer holiday

From great pubs and music venues to live comedy and casino gaming, there is little that you cannot do after dark.

This is something that more and more people are realising too. Harrogate was recently voted one of the finest places for a UK staycation.

That is partly due to the beautiful lush park spaces and historic buildings like Ripon Cathedral and Newby Hall and Gardens, but also because of its nightlife.

In fact, there is so much on offer when the sun goes down that we thought it would be worth providing a guide to the very best.

These are the night entertainment options in Harrogate that you won’t want to miss.

Bars

If you prefer to avoid travelling further afield, Harrogate has plenty to keep you entertained after dark.

The town is home to lots of brilliant bars that offer drinking and dining to get any night out off to the perfect start.

One of the best is Hales Pub, on Crescent Road, which was built all the way back in the 18th century.

This pub still has the gas lights from that era and stepping inside feels like stepping back in time.

All of the food on the extensive menu is homemade and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights are particularly good times to visit, as it hosts ‘party’ nights with music.

On the other hand, if you have a real passion for craft beer, why not pay a visit to the Cold Bath Brewery, in King’s Road.

This microbrewery uses the very best ingredients to create its specialist beers, which include the Cold Bath Pale Ale and Cold Bath Lager.

It also has private rooms that you can book in advance if you want to have a party with friends undisturbed.

Finally, if class is your glass, there is always Manahatta Harrogate.

This is a plush and ultra-glamorous bar that serves cocktails amid decor that conjures up the Manhattan district of New York.

Live Entertainment

Seeing some live entertainment is increasingly popular as part of a night out and Harrogate has you more than covered when it comes to that.

Some of the pubs in the town regularly host live music performances that you can enjoy while you drink.

Live Music

Perhaps the top live music bar is the Blues Bar.

Found on Montpellier Parade, this is a cafe by day and a rip-roaring blues joint by night, complete with Americana decor on the walls.

The music ranges from intimate acoustic blues to the hard-rocking electric variety, but either way it is a top option when you are hitting the town. It is certainly not the only one available to you though.

Some people prefer sounds that you can dance to, and the Ivory Bar is the best spot for that.

This cocktail bar hosts DJs who spin the hottest dance tunes every weekend.

There are also venues for people who favour classic music.

Mojos hosts bottomless brunches during daylight hours and then transforms into retro music heaven with four hours of non-stop partying at night. People even get up on the bar and dance!

Last but not least, there is the Sitting Room Comedy Club.

If you want something different from live music or dancing, stand-up comedy also makes for a strong entertainment choice

Comedy Clubs & Events

The Sitting Room Comedy Club is able to attract top-of-the-line performers, with both solo nights and mixed bills.

The second Wednesday of each month is renowned as the best night to visit this venue as that’s when the most high-profile new acts are on.

Live Activities in Harrogate and Nearby

Live activities keep people entertained through making them feel involved with the action.

One popular example is the Harrogate Scavenger Hunt, those partaking uncover hidden gems and visit iconic landmarks.

And for those who haven’t had lunch, there is also the Harrogate Walking Food Tour.

This enables people to visit all of the best landmarks and pause at five popular eateries.

Leeds is just a few miles away and is home to venues like the Victoria Gate Casino.

It has the same sorts of popular live dealer games and slot game choices that can be found online and will let you dress up for a night of casino play.

You cannot go wrong in Harrogate as there are great entertainment choices around every corner.
