Ripon charity thanks community for support after shop window is smashed A Ripon charity has thanked the community for its support after its shop window was smashed. The St Michael’s Hospice charity shop on North Street had its window smashed on Friday - although it’s believed to have been accidental. Unfortunately the shop was forced to close on Saturday, meaning the charity missed out on any funds it would’ve raised. However the charity has taken to social media to thank those that rallied to support the shop and allow it to reopen. A spokesperson for Saint Michael’s Hospice said:
“Our team of dedicated volunteers and staff work extremely hard to create a safe and welcoming space, selling quality goods to raise money to care for people living with terminal illness. “Determined as they are, our team made this beautiful Valentine’s display and Barry from our Facilities team kindly gave up his Saturday to help make our shop safe once again. “We’re so thankful for the support we’ve already seen from our local community - thank you.”Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
