Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an 85-year-old Harrogate man was attacked by a dog whilst defending his own.
It happened in Hall Lane Park on Tuesday 19th November between 7pm and 7.30pm.
The elderly man was walking his Labrador when it was attacked and injured by a white “pit-bull-type” dog, which was unmuzzled, out-of-control and off the lead, and being walked by two young men.
The pensioner fell over whilst trying to protect his dog, and was left feeling “shaken and upset.”
The men with the attacking dog are described as white, aged around 20-years-old, and wearing dark clothing.
Following the incident they both left the park without providing any details.
