Parents of Harrogate boy ask for donations for his dream trip following Leukemia diagnosis

Charlie while at LGI hospital

7-year-old Charlie from Harrogate was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last August.

Charlie dreams of going to Disneyland when he rings the bell to say he’s clear of cancer, following more than two years of treatment.

Since Charlie's diagnosis, he's been through various treatments and his family is doing everything to ensure his dream comes true.

His parents and step-parents have called upon local businesses for donations and companies such as Quality Clean, have been fundraising for Charlie.

Charlie's twin brother Freddie supported his twin by shaving his hair off.

It's not just his family and businesses supporting him, Charlie's idol 2x British BKB champion, Aaron McCallum, did a charity boxing match and walk for Charlie's cause.

His mum commented saying,

Charlie has amazed us with how brave he is (braver than us at times!), he is bossing us, and bosses the doctors and nurses about!

Charlie says he would like to become a doctor when he is older to help other babies and children with ‘poorly blood’ like him".

Charlie is currently responding well to treatment and has 6 weeks left of chemotherapy.  He will then have 3 monthly lumbar punctures and 4 weekly visits to LGI hospital for chemo and oral chemo agents.

The family is nearly at their goal with the donations, but a little more help is appreciated.

His parents run a Facebook page for Charlie called Team Charlie, where you can keep up to date on his progress. You can find the Facebook page here.

If you are interested in donating for Charlie's dream you can visit their GoFundMe page here.
