
North Yorkshire Police have announced their vacancy for the Special Constable role.
North Yorkshire Police have opened the recruitment window for volunteer police officers known as "Special Constables."
“Specials” are volunteer police officers who have the same uniform and powers as regular paid police officers.
They volunteer a minimum of 16 hours per month to policing North Yorkshire and carry out a full range of operational and front-line duties.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:
"This is not an easy role and is only suitable for driven individuals with a real passion for serving the public, with proven life experience and customer service skills.
"You will need to be markedly resilient to deal with the confrontational and potentially harrowing situations that you’ll come across.
"If you are to succeed in this role you must have effective communication skills and strong team working ethics."
Those who are interested can join their 'familiarisation sessions to learn about the role each session starts at 6:30pm.
These sessions are not mandatory, however police would advise you to attend one, if possible, to gain a further insight and meet the team.
