A historic pub in Harrogate is set to reopen under new ownership.
Harrogate Brewing Co has announced it will be taking over The Old Bell on Royal Parade, with the aim of reopening the pub within the next month.
Harrogate Brewing Co is a family-run microbrewery owned by Julie and Martin Joyce, and currently operates a taproom on Hornbeam Park.
This will remain open despite the takeover.
A spokesperson said:
“For the past few months we’ve been nervously working on an exciting new venture for HBCo.
“We’ve now finally reached a stage where we’re able to share the good news - we’ll be taking ownership of the Old Bell in Harrogate.
“It’s always been a dream to have a place in the town centre, where Harrogate Brewing Co can sell direct to the Harrogate public."
The Old Bell announced it would close at the end of last month - much to the dismay of local residents.
But the announcement on social media has been welcomed by the Harrogate community.
The spokesperson added:
“We’re looking forward to taking on this new challenge and to create a local spot serving great beers in the heart of the community.
“Please bear with us whilst we work behind the scenes for the reopening - we can’t wait to welcome you all!”
