A Knaresborough woman was trapped in her car by a falling tree this morning (Friday).
Steph Shillito was in her car on Boroughbridge Road near Ferrensby when a falling tree landed on her.
She was trapped for a short while before passersby were able to help her escape.
The Harrogate area experienced widespread disruption due to 60mph winds as part of Storm Lillian.
Responding to a video shared on Facebook, Steph said:
"Thank you so much to everyone that helped, and especially to the people that helped me get out of my car when I was trapped in and made sure I was OK.
"I'm really grateful for everyone’s help."
Thankfully Steph was uninjured.
