Knaresborough mum raises £1,000 for eczema in support of daughter

Louise Lodh's daughter Annabelle suffers with severe eczema.

A running mum from Knaresborough has raised more than £1,000 for an eczema charity in support of her 11-year-old daughter.

Louise Lodh, who is part of running group Knaresborough Striders, will be travelling to Munich this Sunday (13th October) to take on her first marathon.

And she has been fundraising for the National Eczema Society in support of her daughter Annebelle, who suffers with the condition.

Through sponsorship from more than 70 donators, Louise has raised £1,139 to date.

She said:

“The National Eczema Society provide a lot of information and support to people with eczema and contribute to research relating to eczema and new treatments.

“Annabelle has suffered with severe eczema since being a baby. Being itchy, sore, putting creams on and sleep disturbance have been part of her life for as long as she can remember.”

Louise added:

“More recently, she has trialled methotrexate (an immunosuppressant medicine) to see if that would help.

“It came with having to have lots of blood tests, which she was very brave with, but unfortunately did not improve her skin.

“Now she is trying a new injection treatment called Dupilumab and we are hoping that this might help.”
