Harrogate Town Supporters Club have slammed the fan who threw a flare during the club's 5-1 FA Cup defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
Harrogate Town supporters slam fan who threw flare during FA Cup defeat Harrogate Town’s Independent Supporters Club have blast the "unacceptable behaviour" of a fan who threw a flare during the club’s FA Cup match with Bolton Wanderers. Town were thrashed 5-1 at Bolton’s Toughsheet Community Stadium in the FA Cup second round on Saturday (2nd December). But during the match, a Harrogate Town fan ignited and threw a flare, which hit another supporter and landed at the feet of a younger fan. In a statement, a spokesperson for the the supporters club said it tarnished the good reputation of Town’s away following. The statement said:
“The Harrogate Town Independent Supporters Club would like to express their disappointment at the behaviour of one of our supporters at our recent match against Bolton Wanderers. “Over the last 10 years we have gained a reputation of being one of the most well behaved and family friend group of fans in the country."It continued:
“Everyone involved with the Independent Supporters Club are committed to making our away trips enjoyable and family friendly. This behaviour is not acceptable, and we have already taken steps to identify and ban the culprit from travelling to any further games on our supporters club coaches. “To reiterate, this is not acceptable and any behaviour with jeopardises our reputation will not be tolerated and will result in an instant ban. This applies to both home and away matches.”Harrogate Town have reinforced the view of their Supporters Club and have shared the statement on their social media channels.
