Harrogate Theatre to host auditions for dancers in Christmas pantomime Harrogate Theatre is looking for chorus dancers for its traditional family pantomime of Dick Whittington, starting in November. The Theatre will hold auditions with the aim of casting 12 dancers between the ages of 13 and 17. The Christmas pantomime of Dick Whittington will take place between 22nd November and 14th January. A Harrogate Theatre spokesperson said:

"Our three dancer teams will take part in performances over the festive season. "Whilst we are unable to offer any payment to pantomime dancers this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a professional performing company and learn about the commitment and skill required to be a performer."
Choreographer David Lee will be holding auditions on Saturday 15th July between 1.30pm-4pm at St Peters Church Hall. Young people of all gender identities who have the ability to dance musical theatre jazz are being invited to audition. The Theatre asks that you make sure you can answer ‘yes’ to the following: I am 13 years old or over on 22 November 2023 and under 18 years old on 14 January 2024. I am able to attend rehearsals from 23 October – 13 November (will include some Saturday mornings). I am able to attend technical and dress rehearsals from 13 November – 21 November. This will involve taking time off school. I am able to perform on various dates from 21 November 2023 to 14 January 2024 (approx. 25 performances). This will involve taking time off school and performing over the Christmas and New Year holidays (not Christmas Day or New Year’s Day). I take full responsibility for getting myself to and from all rehearsals and performances. I am able to pick up choreography quickly. Successful dancers will be required to take time off school so will need to check this won’t be a problem before auditioning. They may also need to take time off from any extracurricular activities. A Harrogate Theatre spokesperson said:
"Being part of the Harrogate Theatre pantomime company is a wonderful experience and lots of fun, but it does require a serious commitment from you and your family!"
