Harrogate school welcomes 45 young pupils after bumper intake

A Harrogate primary school has attracted a bumper crop of pupils this term.

Ashville Prep School, part of Ashville College on Green Lane, has enrolled 45 new pupils from Reception to Year 6 for the Autumn term – a fifth of pupils in the Prep School.

The new starters come areas across Harrogate as well as Wetherby, Ripon and the Nidderdale Valley.

Head of Ashville Prep, Phil Soutar, said he was delighted school numbers continued to grow year on year.

He said:

“Parents choose to send their children to the school because of the Ashville values, our strong academic ethos, wonderful pastoral care and the fabulous facilities, especially the outdoor spaces where children can be children.

“While numbers grow, we maintain our small class sizes where teachers really get to know their pupils and adopt individual learning patterns.”

The school is the only one in Harrogate where both boys and girls can enrol at two and continue their learning until 18 in the Sixth Form, all on the same campus.

Ashville Prep is also the only school in the Harrogate area to have been shortlisted in the National Independent School Parent Awards, which will be announced at a ceremony in London next month.
