Harrogate Shotokan Karate Club is celebrating an impressive medal haul after competing at the English Karate Federation Championships.
The elite squad of 14 competitors, led by JKS England Squad Coach and Harrogate Chief Instructor Matt Price, competed at the event at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
And following a display of “exceptional skills and dedication” over the two-day event, the team scooped five gold and seven bronze medals.
The contest invited 500 of the most elite competitors from across the country for what is the biggest event in the domestic English calendar.
The Cadet and Juniors kicked off the first day, followed by the Seniors on the second day.
And Harrogate Shotokan emerged victorious with a remarkable haul of medals, helping place JKS England second on the Medals Table out of 58 associations.
The Men Senior Kumite Team won their first ever competition at the event in what coaches have called a “testament to their hard work and perseverance.”
Additionally, Matt Price was honoured with the 2025 'Fair Play' award for upholding the true spirit of Karate in England.
